History of Fall Festival Booth

Minimize

The SWIRCA & More  food booth at the Fall Festival  is located at the corner of West Franklin Street & St. Joseph Avenue.  SWIRCA & More serves homemade cobbler, baked by the Cobbler Queen & Cobbler Princesses.  The cobbler baking began in 1989 with just a few cobblers to see how they would sell. They sold out immediately and in 1990 we started selling only cobbler. Blackberry & Cherry were sold the first two years, then we added Peach. After several years we changed the Cherry to Apple. In recent years we have tried different flavors such as Pineapple, Tropical,  Apple Cherry Berry & Strawberry. In 2005 The Strawberry Cobbler was selected as the Dessert of the Year by WIKY radio.

Throughout the years Blackberry & Peach have remained the favorite, with Blackberry being number one.

The Cobbler Queen & Princesses bake on an average of 450 cobblers per year. Cobblers are baked fresh each day, never frozen.

Cobbler Facts:

·         1000 pounds of sugar used each year.

·         120 gallons Peaches

·         180 pounds of butter
