PASRR (Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) or Level II Screening
A Level II evaluation is completed on all residents with a diagnosis of mental illness or mental retardation/development disability.
Level II Mental Health evaluations are completed by the Community Mental Health Centers in the State of Indiana.
Level II Mental Retardation/Development Disability evaluations are completed by Interdisiplinary Diagnostic and Evaluation Centers(IDEC).
Benefits of Level II Evaluations: To ensure individuals are in the most appropriate setting to meet their needs; to improve the quality of life and cared for the resident; to facilitate care planning, to alleviate stress.
Individuals requiring Level II evaluations must be assessed prior to placement in a nursing facility. Referral is made to SWIRCA & More, PAS Department. Referral is made to mental health or IDEC for Level II evaluation and as assessment is completed with the patient. Determination of appropriate placement is then made by SWIRCA & More.
