Criteria to receive a Title 3 Home Delivered Meal:

  1. Be at least 60 years of age or be enrolled as a CHOICE or Medicaid Waiver client and be living in the community.
  2. Be unable to leave home to attend a congregate meal site by reason of physical and mental impairment, isolation or no transportation available.
  3. Be unable to prepare meals for self or not have facilities to prepare meals.  
  4. Or if the provision of a home delivered meal is the most cost effective method of delivering a nutritionally adequate meal.
  5. Be willing to participate in an assessment for in home services including a release of information to SWIRCA Case Management.

SWIRCA & More Home Delivered Meal Program

The SWIRCA & More Nutrition Program, Home Delivered Meal Program, provides hot home delivered meals Monday through Friday during the noon hour in the counties of Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick, Perry, Spencer and Gibson. There are sixteen home delivered meal routes. There are areas in each of the counties where meals are not delivered. The meals are provided on a contribution basis. There is no set fee or charge for the meal. A suggested contribution for Title III meals is $3.50 per meal. No one is denied a meal for lack of money. The meals are packaged in a tray with a film top. The meals can be placed in a microwave oven or a conventional oven to heat up.
